Before they were SAVATAGE, they were named AVATAR. The name had to be changed because another band owned that name, hence they came up with SAVATAGE. This clip came from an outdoor concert sponsored by a Tampa radio station, held in a strip mall parking lot in Clearwater, Florida sometime around 1982. This is the earliest (known) footage of SAVATAGE that exists.
