HURRICANE RESURRECTION! NEW ALBUM IN THE WORKS!

'80s hard rockers HURRICANE are reportedly being resurrected by guitarist and founding member Robert Sarzo (brother of former QUIET RIOT bassist Rudy Sarzo). This new version of the group will record a new album and tour throughout the world. The new CD will feature original material along with new music that will fuse different musical elements.

HURRICANE is now being managed by music industry veterans Alex Sarzo and Robert Sarzo Jr. under a new joint venture called Cuban Assassin.

HURRICANE's original lineup is

Sarzo, Kelly Hansen (vocals)
Tony Cavazo (bass; brother of QUIET RIOT's Carlos Cavazo)
and Jay Schellen (drums).

GUNS N' ROSES MORE TOUR DATES

GUNS N' ROSES has announced that it will be hitting the road starting in April. According to South Africa's 5FM, the first leg of the "Chinese Democracy World Tour 2007" will see GN'R play in Japan, Thailand, South Africa, South America, Mexico, Australia, and New Zealand.

SLAYER WINS GRAMMY 'BEST METAL PERFORMANCE'

SLAYER was honored with a Grammy in the "Best Metal Performance" category in the pre-telecast ceremony at the 49th annual Grammy Awards, which are being held tonight (Sunday, February 11) at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The nominees in the "Metal" category were as follows:

LAMB OF GOD - "Redneck"
MASTODON - "Colony Of Birchmen"
MINISTRY - "Lies, Lies, Lies"
SLAYER - "Eyes Of The Insane"
STONE SOUR - "30/30-150"

This was SLAYER's second Grammy nomination, the first being in 2002 for the track "Disciple" (from "God Hates Us All"), also in the "Best Metal Performance" category.
