MICHAEL ANTHONY IS 'LOOKING FORWARD' TO VH ROCK AND ROLL HOF INDUCTION

Michael Anthony has posted the following message on his official blog:

"Last Friday [Feb. 23] one of my dreams came true as I got to jam with three fantastic guitar players, Jeff Beck, Billy Gibbons and Jimmy Vaughn! It was for an event here in L.A. at the Peterson Automotive Museum, celebrating the 75th anniversary of the '32 Ford. I'll have pictures and a writeup all about the event on my site hopefully this week. In the meantime you can also see a couple of shots on Jeff's web site: www.jeffbeck.com.

"On Sunday [Feb. 25] I surprised Sammy [Hagar] at the NASCAR race, where he played a few songs before the race. I jumped up to sing a little on 'I Can't Drive 55', which was televised before the start of the race. Next I'm looking forward to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction on Mar. 12, then I will fly down to Puerto Vallerto to meet the cruise ship to jam with Sam's band (THE WABOS). We are working on a few older VH songs, and I'll be handling all the lead vocals..WATCH OUT, HAGAR!! I'm looking forward to bashing it up a bit with all of you on the cruise!"

Anthony isn't letting his dismissal from VAN HALEN get in the way of his feelings about being elected to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. On his web site, the bassist previously wrote, "I was very excited and honored to learn that VAN HALEN would be inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this March. I want to thank Eddie, Alex, Sammy, and Dave. It has been an amazing experience and I am very proud of what we have accomplished. I'm not sure yet how the induction ceremony will work, but I'll keep everyone posted as I find out the details. A Big MA Toast to all our fans for their tremendous support over the years! Love you all and bottoms up!!"

BLACK SABBATH - THE DIO YEARS RECORDING SESSIONS

Mike Exeter, who recorded and mixed the new tracks on BLACK SABBATH's upcoming "Black Sabbath: The Dio Years" compilation, has commented on the sessions that produced the songs "The Devil Cried", "Shadow of the Wind" and "Ear In The Wall". In a posting in the "Forums" section of the Black-Sabbath.com web site, Exeter writes, "Just wanted to dispel a couple of things before too much conjecture happens. I recorded and mixed the new stuff with Tony and the guys.

"This song ['The Devil Cried'] was conceived during last summer during writing sessions where Tony [Iommi] came up with riffs and I would build backing tracks around his guitar. We worked song arrangements into many 'demos' and a couple of these ideas triggered interest from Ronnie [James Dio]. He came over for the TENACIOUS D movie premiere and along with continuing work on 'Shadow of the Wind' (which had been pretty much written back in March) he suggested working on 'Song 3'. During the few days he was around Ronnie, Tony and I worked the song into its current form and Ronnie went away with a 'completed' demo to write his lyrics. We also started on the 'Fast Song' and had that pretty much nailed in the same writing session. These are definitely not left over tracks from other projects.

"Ronnie's voice is in excellent form and he is a joy to work with.

"Geezer was definitely very happy with the final outcome — he played some great stuff. The mixes are very dense, but the guys all love them and there was a lot of involvement from everyone to ensure that they were all happy.

"It's a very difficult thing to create a piece of work and put it out to be judged by some very passionate and loyal fans, but that's what happens every time new music is created. Everyone is going to have a different perspective on it, but the important thing is that the people who created it went through mental torture at times to do their best to make it sound as they wanted and finally it has to be sent out to be heard!

"It's fantastic to hear everyones' feelings over the last couple of days, I regard positive and negative as a way of improving what I do. I'm looking forward to seeing the band work live again cos if what they sounded like together in the studio is anything to go by — they're gonne be brilliant."

DAVID LEE ROTH TO REISSUE CLASSIC RECORDS

On April 3, 2007, Friday Music will re-release three much-sought-after classic recordings from the legendary DAVID LEE ROTH Warner Brothers catalog: "A Little Ain't Enough" (FRM 1054), "Your Filthy Little Mouth" (FRM 1055) and the highly collectable "Sonrisa Salvaje" (FRM 1053) ("Eat 'Em and Smile" sung in Spanish). All three albums have been re-mastered by Joe Reagoso, and each compact disc comes complete with the original graphics and artwork keeping the integrity and spirit of the original releases.

"Sonrisa Salvaje" is receiving its first ever release on compact disc, making this highly anticipated Roth album finally available to his fans. Originally released in 1986 for a very short time on vinyl, this much coveted collector's item has fetched high dollars at auctions over the years. David Lee Roth gives a great performance along with his band at the time, Steve Vai (guitars), Billy Sheehan (bass) and Gregg Bissonette (drums). This collector's dream features ten rocking Spanish versions of classics like "Loco Del Calor!" ("Goin' Crazy"), "Yankee Rose" and "En Busca De Pleito" ("Big Trouble").

Often regarded as one of his most defining hard rock moments, Roth's platinum-plus "A Little Ain't Enough" features twelve incredible tracks produced by Bob Rock (METALLICA, MÖTLEY CRÜE). This 1991 smash continues the tradition with Roth staples like "Hammerhead Shark", "A Lil' Ain't Enough", "40 Below" and "Shoot It". Featured players include Jason Becker (lead guitar), Steve Hunter (guitars), Brett Tuggle (keyboards and vocals), Gregg Bissonette (drums) and Matt Bissonette (bass and vocals).

1994's "Your Filthy Little Mouth" is one of Roth's more prolific projects, and highly regarded as one of his best albums to his huge fan base. Produced by Nile Rodgers (DAVID BOWIE, DURAN DURAN) this album churns non-stop with fourteen classic Roth performances. Radio staples "She's My Machine" and "Everybody's Got The Monkey" and the bluesy "Sunburn" are only a few of the shining moments on this classic release. Includes the core band of Terry Kilgore (guitar), John Regan (bass), Tony Beard (drums) and Richard Hilton (keyboards).
