DEF LEPPARD TO TOUR NORTH AMERICA WITH FOREIGNER, STYX

DEF LEPPARD's official web site has been updated with the following message:

"So, if DEF LEPPARD is not hitting the road with KISS this year (as previously rumored), then who will they go out with? Although there is no official word that it will be the case for ALL dates on the 2007 tour, we can spill that the band is currently in the process of booking shows in the U.S. and Canada with rock veterans FOREIGNER and STYX. That's all we can tell for the time being, but stay tuned: more details and show dates will be announced on DefLeppard.com as soon as they are confirmed!"

DEF LEPPARD was scheduled to begin recording its next studio album in January at frontman Joe Elliott's house in Dublin. Basic ideas were hashed out on the road during the band's extensive tour in support of last year's covers album "Yeah!", a first for DEF LEPPARD.

"We've got about five or six songs on the go, and there'll be 11 or 12 on the final version," guitarist Phil Collen told Billboard.com in December. "We're trying to get it out for next summer, which for us would be amazing. But we've never been this far along. We come off tour, wait six months, then we start writing. We've already got that sorted out.

Collen said the songs thus far have "absolutely" been influenced by the process of making "Yeah!", which featured DEF LEPPARD's spin on songs popularized by THIN LIZZY, THE FACES and MOTT THE HOOPLE. "We did that so quick," he said. "It was raw, and it didn't demand we sit around for months or years. That really inspired us."

TNT NEW ALBUM UPDATED

TNT have set "The New Territory" as the title of their new album, due in May in Japan via Marquee Avalon and June in Europe via MTM Music. The CD, which is currently being mixed in Bergen, Norway, is described by TNT singer Tony Mills (ex-SHY) as "very diverse, with radio friendly tracks as well as the heavier side of life, some swing and some atmospherics. . . [It] has all the diversities that I personally had hoped for, with the balls of TNT and the elegance of QUEEN and the post-perspective of various '70s production attitudes. 'Something Special' rocks from top to bottom with complicated backing arrangements and 'I Cant Go On With This Feeling' smacks of the same color and underlying power. The album [was] completed with the direction of the producer H.P. Gundersen, who to me seems like a modern-day Andy WarholGeorge Martin. A very talented guy who can seem to create unthinkable arrangements and follow them through to their completion with great ease. An important find."

Upcoming TNT shows:

Mar. 09 - Jevnaker, NOR @ Untouchable Rock Club
Mar. 10 - Sauda, NOR @ Sauda Show Festival
April 07 - Karasjok, NOR @ Easter Festival
May 26 - Lillehammer, NOR @ Classic Rock Festival
Jun. 08 - Trondheim, NOR @ Trondheim Rock Festival
Jun. 30 - Jæren, NOR @ Helgaa Festival
Jul. 14 - Kvinesdal, NOR @ Kvinesdal Rock Festival
