According to MansonUSA.com, California-based photographer Tyler Shield has put out a bulletin on MySpace with a casting call for a new music video/short film, which Marilyn Manson will apparentely both direct and star in. The bulletin in question reads as follows:
"Marilyn Manson is directing a music video/short film this weekend and we need some beautiful girls for a club scene starring Marilyn and Evan Rachel Wood. If you would like to come be a part of the scene, please e-mail two photos and your contact info to dustinblackburncasting@gmail.com. Calls will go out tomorrow afternoon and the shoot will take place sunday night in Los Angeles. Note: There is no pay involved in this."
Marilyn Manson will be the featured guest on the season premiere of "The Henry Rollins Show" on the Independent Film Channel (IFC) on Friday, April 13 at 11:00 p.m. EST.
SAXON are taking part in a documentary series that U.K.'s Channel 4 will air in April. The idea for the series is for renowned promoter Harvey Goldsmith to return six acts to "big-time showbiz." His task with SAXON is to get the band a hit single in Britain.
Commented the band in a posting on their web site: "We saw the Channel 4 program. It's not too bad. At the beginning they put us down a lot, making the festival we are playing a bit small, but the billing was great — SODOM, WITHIN TEMPTATION, SAXON, KREATOR, MEGADETH, BLIND GUARDIAN and many more. Maybe Harvey and the Channel 4 lot have never heard of these bands. The film ends up as a success.
"Although they filmed the band for six months, there is very little of this in the film. The central character is obviously Harvey Goldsmith, and they must be investing a lot of money into their new boy. We feel that Kim, the director, and Claudine, who filmed most of the show, were making a great effort to capture the character of the band but we think they got too close to us and got pulled out on the editing. But actually Harvey's motives are to make the band sucessful in Britain, so although the band are taken down before being brought back up by Harvey, this is the central theme of the program, which is acceptable. Although the facts are being presented in a simplistic and manipulated way, we feel from being involved with Harvey we have done tons more promotion in Britain and we would like to thank all the people who also helped who are not on the film."
EDGUY will kick off their North American tour on September 11 in Hartford, CT. Support on the dates will come from Canada's INTO ETERNITY, Norway's SUSPERIA, plus a special guest.
Commented the group's lead singer, Tobias Sammet: "I am so happy to get back to the States and Canada. Great countries! When I look back, our last tour was just four weeks of fun, having a blast on stage every single night, great crowds, friendly reception... We felt at home immediately!!! I still recall all those so-called experts who told us that there is no market for entertaining heavy rockin' metal music with a positive vibe — especially in the U.S. Well, their opinion was a heavy load of horseshit!! We're talking about a 'little' spot on the map with approximately 300 million people living there. You can't tell me that you can't find at least 42 blokes in every major city with a great sense of humor and a good taste in music. And even if those 42 blokes prefer not to show up, that tour will fucking pay! God bless America!!! Seriously, we can't wait to go back there. We will give you our everything and we'll be entertaining! We can't wait to get our asses on that airplane to show you how badly we want to make the U.S. and Canada a benchmark in our future touring schedules! Take care and see you soon!"
