DEF LEPPARD WORKING ON THEIR NEW CD

Bruce Simon from Icebergradio has reported that Def Leppard is already thinking about their next album, and they plan to change things up this time. Guitarist Phil Collen told us that Def Leppard's already began the process while on tour, which they'd never done before, and it should pay off quickly: "We got a start date for the album, which is in January. Yeah, we've got a bunch of ideas ready, and we've actually already started recording some of it. We're gonna try and get it out for next year -- well, we are gonna get it out for next year. It's gonna be probably the end of the summer, I think, and we'll have tracks way before that. Yeah, I think we'll have a couple of tracks by the end of this year, to be quite honest."

THE EAGLES NEW TRACKS WITH DVD

Icebergradio reports that

The deal between the Eagles and Wal-Mart has led to the release of some new music. Wal-Mart stores are selling an upgraded version of the Farewell I Tour -- Live From Melbourne DVD package that now comes with a CD. The disc includes "No More Cloudy Days," first heard on the Farewell I DVD, along with two all-new tracks: "Fast Company," written by singer-drummer Don Henley and singer-guitarist Glenn Frey, and "Do Something," which comes from Henley, tour guitarist Steuart Smith, and bassist Timothy B. Schmit, who handles lead vocals. The package is exclusive to Wal-Mart and its affiliated stores, including Sam's Club, and it's priced at about $10.

It's unknown whether these songs will be included on the album the Eagles have been threatening to release for many years now.

MORTIIS ON NEW MATERIALS

Mortiis has been busy writing and recording new material for a new album, to be released 2007.

"The music so far is pretty varied," said frontman and band namesake Mortiis. "There´s a bunch of really heavy stuff in there, probably the hardest stuff we´ve done so far, really guitar driven shit. Then there´s some really ambient sounding stuff, very drone-y and atmospheric, as well as some more electronic sounding songs too."

Mortiis notes that the songs are still in various stages of completion, leaving them open to many shifts and changes before the follow-up to "The Grudge" is recorded.
"It sounds really interesting right now," Mortiis said. "Some old vibes came back to us on some of the songs, some ´Smell of Rain´ vibes and some ´Grudge´ vibes and some new vibes. It´s all totally dysfunctional and fucked up in one way or another. Diseased or hurt minds never really heal up, I guess, and because of that, all in all it?s going to be a really hard, attacking kind of album with the moody stuff in between."
Some of the working titles are: "Zeitgeist," "Great Deceiver," "The Ugly Truth," "Looking Glass," "Doppelganger," "Sins of Mine," "Scolding the Burnt," "Live Forever," and "Road to Ruin."

Mortiis also recently completed remixes for Zombie Girl and Dope Stars´ upcoming releases.
