G3 SHOW CHANGED ANNOUNCED

As previously reported, guitarists Joe Satriani, John Petrucci and Steve Vai are currently in Australia on the G3 tour. Satriani has announced the following statement:

"The venue for the G3 concert in Adelaide Entertainment Centre has been changed to the Thebarton Theatre on the same date, Wednesday December 6th. The Thebarton Theatre will offer a more intimate concert experience than would have been possible at the Entertainment Centre, which we hope will be appreciated by all ticket holders.

All tickets purchased for the Entertainment Centre show are valid for the relocated show without need for exchange. Should patrons be unable to attend the Thebarton Theatre, a full refund can be obtained from the ticket outlet from which they were purchased.

Michael Coppel Presents and G3 apologise for any inconvenience this may cause."

Remaining dates on the tour are as follows:

December
6 - Thebarton Theater in Adelaide, Australia
8 - Challenge Stadium in Perth, Australia

GUNS FOR GUNS N' ROSES TICKETS!

CBS5 has reported that organizers of a guns-for- GUNS N' ROSES ticket exchange in Oakland Saturday said the event was a success since three dozen guns were taken off the street. [Watch a CBS 5 report on the exchange at this location.]

"I want to get a billion guns off the street," said gun exchange coordinator Joe DeVries . But for now, DeVries was happy with 36.

Organizers and police collected the guns in the parking lot of McAfee Coliseum.

DeVries said the 20 handguns and 12 rifles picked up would be sent to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms so they can be melted down and turned into manhole covers.

DeVries was particularly pleased that the event was able to get a few guns known as "Saturday night specials," or "junk guns," off the street. DeVries said junk guns are small, cheap and easily concealed.

Those who turned in guns were given a prize in exchange, such as tickets to a Warriors game, tickets to an upcoming GUNS N' ROSES concert, a tabletop oven or gift cards for Wal-Mart and Sears.

"We gave away a prize average of $100 per gun," DeVries said. "Some (guns) were worth far more, some were worth far less. We did have one man who turned in seven guns, (so) we gave him a few extra GUNS N' ROSES tickets."

DIMEBAG RARE TRACK APPEAR!

Dan McNew , the organizer of the Ride for Dime bike rally in honor of late PANTERA / DAMAGEPLAN guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott , has posted the following message:

"We all know Dimebag 's musical roots were in country western music, and we all know what a great sense of humor he had. And last but not least, Dime supported the local music scene in Dallas and would sometimes record with local musicians. I ran into one of those musicians, 'Throbbin Donnie Rodd' tonight [Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006] in a club who told me the story of how Dimebag sat in on a recording session with him and recorded this country western song called 'Country Western Transvestite Whore' . Dime plays lead guitar and lead vocals. I just wanted to pass this song on to everyone. Enjoy!"
