COSBY, STILLS, NASH, AND YOUNG TOUR FILM IN PROGRESS

Bruce Simon from Icebergradio reports that:

There will be a documentary from this summer's Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young tour, but it might not be what you expect. Plans are underway for a CD, with the possibility of a DVD, but Neil Young is putting his energies into assembling a documentary of sorts. David Crosby told us that Young is working on it now, and that people will be knocked out by what they see: "There's a film, and I think it's gonna be an amazing film, because there was an amazing thing that happened. You know, I have never been to anything like that. You know, it's not just a concert film, you know, of us playing, though there will be concert footage in it. It's really about now, this moment in America, and what it meant to do (the tour), and how, why we did it, and what kind of effect it's really having."

The film will include interviews with concert-goers, as well as with military personnel who were invited to the shows fresh from returning from their tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan. No release date has been set, but Crosby did tell us that it would probably be shown at the annual Sundance Film Festival.

TOP 10 HEAVY METAL SINGERS

According to Hit Parader magazine, Robert Plant from Led Zeppelin and Rob Halford from Judas Priest are the two best men for the job. The magazine has published their list of "Heavy Metal's All-Time Top 100 Vocalists," and the editors said, "Assembling our list certainly presented a daunting task, considering the breadth and scope of the metal empire during its 35-year reign as rock's most powerful and enduring force. We tried our best not to turn this into some sort of popularity contest where only the most famous (or infamous) frontmen in metal lore were recognized."

That might explain how the list includes well-known metal maniacs like Queen's Freddie Mercury, the Who's Roger Daltrey, Mick Jagger from the Rolling Stones, Ann Wilson from Heart, Kurt Cobain from Nirvana, Rod Stewart, David Bowie, Jimi Hendrix, Ray Davies from the Kinks, Joan Jett, Steve Marriott from the Small Faces and Humble Pie, and Steve Perry from Journey.

The Hit Parader Magazine Top 10 Heavy Metal Singers:

1) Robert Plant from Led Zeppelin
2) Rob Halford from Judas Priest
3) Steven Tyler from Aerosmith
4) Chris Cornell from Audioslave and Soundgarden
5) Bon Scott from AC/DC
6) Freddie Mercury from Queen
7) Bruce Dickinson from Iron Maiden
8) Ozzy Osbourne from Black Sabbath
9) Paul Rodgers from Free, Bad Company, and the Firm
10) Ronnie James Dio from Rainbow and Black Sabbath

AXL "GET ON BOARD OR FUCK OFF"

Guns N' Roses has issued the following statement on their website:

"Guns N' Roses had a great Friday night (December 1st) in Ames, Iowa. It was fantastic for everyone to get back on stage with Axl on the road to recovery from the ear infection and the strep throat that caused their Milwaukee show to be cancelled.

It was also really positive to have HELMET join the band alongside SUICIDE GIRLS, MODERN DAY ZERO and SEBASTIAN BACH after the disappointment that was THE EAGLES OF DEATH METAL. Axl and the band would also like to thank everyone for staying extra late in Ames. They left Chicago in the morning but what was supposed to be a 1 hour plane flight turned into a 12 hour bus ride due to the severe weather that hit Chicago and most of the country. The bus was diverted several times by the police due to major accidents and for a time there was real concern that the band would not make it. In the end it was all good and once again they would like to thank everyone for their patience and willingness to stay up late as well as apologise to anyone that had to leave! They look forward to seeing you over the next few weeks and wishing you Merry Christmas!

PS Regarding The Eagles Of Death Metal and their recent bogus claims Guns N' Roses bass guitarist Tommy Stinson had this to say, "As a matter of fact, Eagles of Death Metal were a suggestion of mine a while ago. Turns out they were the wrong band for our crowd. They were booed and did not play for as long as they were scheduled to. As for all of the inaccuracies that have been said since, I would like to say that's all they are - inaccuracies. In the past I have thrown my bass. I have never thrown it at Axl or anyone else in the band nor has anyone thrown my bass back at me… yet. Axl has been a dear friend to me for nine years. We have no problem communicating and wish that people would stay the fuck out of shit they don't know anything about. There was no GN'R mutiny or any such thing after the Cleveland gig and as far as I'm concerned this tour has been the most fun yet. The band is playing great and getting along better than we ever have. With that said, either get on board or fuck off."
