LouiA super rare pressing of the first Velvet Underground album has sold for an amazing $155,401.
The in-studio acetate of seminal album ‘ The Velvet Underground & Nico' went for the massive sum on eBay.com, after the owner originally bought it at a Montreal flea market for 75 cents.
Lucky collector Warren Hill 's pal Eric Isaacson explains, “We cued it up and were stunned the first song was not 'Sunday Morning' as on the 'Velvet Underground & Nico' Verve LP, but rather it was 'European Son' the song that is last on that LP, and it was a version neither of us had ever heard before!"
"I immediately took the needle off the record, and realised that we had something special.”
The copy is thought to be one of only two in existence.
