MOTORHEAD HEADLINES CONCERT IN LINGEN

MOTÖRHEAD headlined a special concert last Friday (Dec. 8) in the town of Lingen in Northern Germany. Europe's leading rock mail order business, E.M.P. , organized a monster party in the Emslandhallen to celebrate the 20th anniversary of its successful business. MOTÖRHEAD reportedly performed in front of 3,000 fans, including 500 musicians, E.M.P. employees and representatives from the film and music industry.

According to a press release, a local youth center had the idea to invite these rock icons to Lingen. E.M.P. , which is headquartered in Lingen, was so taken by the youth center's idea that the company sponsored the concert and made MOTÖRHEAD the main attraction of its own anniversary party. E.M.P. used the event as a fundraiser for the foundation named "Musik HILFT" (Music Helps). Proceeds from the concert, plus 20,000 euros of E.M.P. 's own money, will be donated to the foundation.

A heavy metal fan by the name of Felix Lethmate founded E.M.P. in 1986 and was soon joined in this endeavour by Frank Janetzky and Michael Rother . The three of them had no idea that 20 years later E.M.P. would be Europe's largest mail-order business for rock music and merchandising products.

E.M.P. currently has offices in the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland and Finland.
