DEF LEPPARD TO FINISH NEW ALBUM IN THE FIRST HALF OF 2007

DEF LEPPARD members Joe Elliott , Vivian Campbell and Phil Collen have revealed their New Year's resolutions via the following holiday messages on the band's web site:

Joe : "My New Year's resolutions? Phew! Guess you have to make them..... Stop biting my nails, don't drink as much, watch my football team win the premiership... No, seriously, it would be to try and make a fuckin' great record!" (For an additional audio message from Joe.)

Phil : "Merry Christmas, happy holidays and all the best for 2007 for everyone! And, here's a kind of resolution: we're going to try and get an album recorded and finished in 2007. That'll be a new one for us!"

Vivian : "Season's greetings and best wishes to all LEPPARD fans across the globe! Wherever you are, we wish you a peaceful holiday and a great new year ahead! And speaking of the New Year, here are my resolutions for 2007: firstly, I really, really want to unpack my suitcase and feel like I'm not traveling — at least for a little while. Secondly, I intend to keep the band beholding to our earlier agreement to finish a new album in the first half of 2007. The naysayers don't believe that we can do it, but we'll prove them wrong. There's much excitement and anticipation about the album, too, as I believe that we'll actually make a better record through working to a deadline rather than having the usual open-ended arrangement. Look forward to seeing you all next year!"

SAXON vocalist Biff Byford had the following to say about the band's upcoming single:

"We are going to release a new single soon off the new album, called 'If I Was You' . I wrote the lyrics based on gun and knife crime having seen so many tragic stories of somebody getting knifed to death for a mobile phone and three quid or some young mother caught in the crossfire between two idiots with guns. 'If I was you and you were me, would you live your life differently?'"

KERRY KING COMMENTS ON GRAMMY AND UPCOMING TOUR

GarageRadio, John Foxworthy has recently conducted interview with Kerry King, Slayer's guitarist. Few excerpts are follows:

Garage Radio : First of all, I wanted to congratulate you on your second Grammy nomination in as many albums. That's pretty huge, I think.

Kerry: I dunno. It's either that or the competition was so lame they had to fuckin' vote for us.

GR: You've got some pretty stiff competition ... LAMB OF GOD , MINISTRY , MASTODON and STONE SOUR . What are you hoping to come out of it?

KK: Don't even care. Our fans don't give a shit and that's the most important thing to me. I mean, if they want it ... well, they probably want us to win, but just so they can say "Fuck those other guys." It's not gonna make us any better. People may look at us differently, but not anybody that's a SLAYER fan. You know what I mean?

GR: Yeah. I'm also thinking a Grammy nomination didn't help you break "Christ Illusion" at #5. Considering your propensity for writing inflammatory lyrics and touching on controversial subject matter, I was kind of surprised.

KK: That would be the coolest thing, you know? To win with the shit we write about.

GR: Will you be going to the presentation?

KK: No. We'll be touring.

GR: You're kicking off the tour in January, right?

KK: Yeah.

GR: You guys did the blood raining down on "Raining Blood" and the Unholy Alliance tour was pretty wild, too. On this one, are you going to be pulling out any surprises for us?

KK: On this one we're doing in January and February, it's probably the smallest tour we've done in a while. In most markets, it's only us and UNEARTH . We're just taking the old-school backline and backdrops. It's not gonna be anything like we just took out with Unholy Alliance , which was our answer to our "Raining Blood" thing that we did. We had big, fuckin', seven-high, upside-down cross Marshalls. I had one and Jeff had one and that was the backline, but on this little tour we're doing now we're not bringing them.
