UFO: The Monkey Puzzle (Sept 26, 2006)

Legenday UFO released their newest album called "The Monkey Puzzle" on September 26. The album features 11 songs with UFO hard rock style. Phil Mogg still once again proves that he is one of the great hard rock singer with his hard and heavy sound. Paul Raymond's guitar is quite bombastic.

Songs are well mixed and composed. The songs sound sonically perfect. However, meaning of each song is quite boring with same old plot and emotion. The guitar lines are good but not great. There are no memorable guitar riff in this album. Each song throughout the whole album is kind of falling into the same tune and taste. There are no fast song like "Light Out", there are no ballad like "Love To Love", and there are no memorable guitar riff like "Rock Bottom".

The highlight of this album includes “Hard Being Me,” “Some Other Guy,” “Who's Fooling Who” and “Good Bye You.”

Overall
Positive: The overall album is quite good and still has a great sound of UFO, hard and solid. All songs are well mixed and composed.
Negative: Many UFO fans might feel bored with same old materials with no memorable melody in every song. No fast song and no power ballad.
