RONNIE JAMES DIO, SLASH, TERRY BOZZIO TO BE INDUCTED INTO HOLLYWOOD'S ROCKWALK
Ronnie James Dio (DIO, RAINBOW, BLACK SABBATH, HEAVEN AND HELL), Slash (GUNS N' ROSES, VELVET REVOLVER) and Terry Bozzio (MISSING PERSONS, FRANK ZAPPA, KORN) will be inducted into Hollywood's RockWalk at the Guitar Center in Hollywood Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at 7:00 p.m..
Guitar Center is located at 7425 Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood.
The RockWalk is described as "the only sidewalk gallery dedicated to honoring those artists who have made a significant impact and lasting contribution to the growth and evolution rock 'n' roll, blues and R&B."
Previous inductees include JIMI HENDRIX, ERIC CLAPTON, JOHNNY CASH, AEROSMITH, IRON MAIDEN, VAN HALEN, JAMES BROWN, the RAMONES, Zakk Wylde (BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, OZZY OSBOURNE) and many more.
PAUL STANLEY TO PLAY KISS CLASSICS AT RnR FANTASY CAMP
BBM reports that Paul Stanley (KISS), Bret Michaels (POISON), Scott Ian (ANTHRAX), Bruce Kulick (KISS), Sully Erna (GODSMACK), and Mark Slaughter (SLAUGHTER) are among the artists that have signed on to serve as "counselors" at next month's Rock 'n Roll Fantasy Camp. The cost of the five-day retreat, which will take place Feb. 15-19 in Hollywood, is $9,499, according to organizers. The camp culminates in a Battle of the Bands blowout at the House of Blues on Sunset in Hollywood, California.
When RRFC comes to Hollywood, there will be events galor to make rock dreams come true:
* GRATEFUL DEAD Night (Feb. 17) — Featuring the GRATEFUL DEAD's drummer Mickey Hart leading a jam with each band.
* BEACH BOYS Night (Feb. 18) — BEACH BOYS co-founder Brian Wilson serves as judge as the bands compete in a play-off featuring BEACH BOYS songs.
* Original Song Contest (Feb. 18) — Each band will perform its original song — which will be judged, mixed, recorded, and put on CD and on iTunes!
* House of Blues Battle of the Bands (Feb. 19) — Paul Stanley (lead singer, guitarist and songwriter of KISS) will perform a KISS song on stage live with every band at the House of Blues Battle of the Bands. Dickey Betts of THE ALLMAN BROTHERS will join each band for some Southern rock.
The RRFC dawn-to-midnight schedule includes master classes, private sessions, dinners with the stars, late night jams with renowned studio musicians and special guests. Offering pointers throughout are some of rock's royalty, who help the bands come together, collaborate and create. Campers get the opportunity to rock with their idols on top-notch instruments and stay at the glamorous Hollywood Renaissance Hotel.
TOOL just issued the following message regarding their upcoming Japan tours:
I've added the tour dates for Japan to the tour section now that they are official. Since there are only five shows, I'll also list them here. I't almost certain that Camella will be going to the shows, so we should get some good photos to post on the sites. Now, for those who are about to e-mail about the Spring U.S. dates, as soon as the band's management sends them to me, I'll put them in the tour section. Until then, there's nothing I can do about it. Hopefully, this will be soon... as they're currently finalizing all the contractual details, etc.
