ROTTING CHRIST's SAKIS TOLIS FEELS 'SORRY' FOR DAVE MUSTAINE

Decibel magazine reports that MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine forced Greece's ROTTING CHRIST off a 2005 Athens gig, later saying he didn't want to play with "full-on" Satanic band since being "saved" in 2002. He further spouted off on MEGADETH's web site that "No one knows for sure what [ROTTING CHRIST's] intent or content is, so I am not going to say they are [Satanic]." Nevertheless, even though MEGADETH had played with the group previously, he threatened to pass Greece by if ROTTING CHRIST was the support band.

"The concerts that I headline or I put together is usually my choice who I want to play with; festivals are different," he said at the time. "If I don't feel it is right for me to do something, then I [will] just respectfully decline. I would not ask that anyone be taken off if they were already confirmed.

"I have to draw the line and stand for my beliefs or they aren't beliefs at all, are they?" he added "I don't expect anyone to fully understand this, but I know many of [the MEGADETH fans] do, and I thank [them] for [their] support.

More than anything, this confounded ROTTING CHRIST leader Sakis Tolis.

"I didn't expect something like that from Dave Mustaine, because, you know, he's supposed to be metal — you know, 'metal band,' all metal," said Tolis. "I just feel sorry for him and for every new Christian with new ideas, because we think Christianity is the worst thing to happen in human history. This is a well-organized trick in order to control society, so when I see someone that's very much Christian, that's full of the system, I feel very sorry for him because he's not free. And of course, if you are a Christian who believes somewhere, I don't care. It's up to you to believe anywhere you want, but if you want to push your opinion to the others, then I have to feel sorry about you."
