KROKUS TAKING SHORT, WELL-DESERVED BREAK

Peter Waelti of The KROKUS Globe Club For Clan & Fan has issued the following update:

"KROKUS [has completed] their most extensive European tour yet in Dudley/England today. They rocked as 'special guests' of HAMMERFALL across 15 countries. Marc [Storace, vocals] mentioned to the Globe Club recently in a phone conversation that it was an incredibly positive experience. Although the faithful KROKUS fan heard a trimmed down, shorter set list because of the three-band package each evening, the feedback from fans to the Globe Club were overwhelmingly great. Whereas KROKUS is thankful for their solid fan base and the enthusiasm of their fans literally over decades, this tour helped to introduce KROKUS to a younger audience that had never heard of KROKUS before. Go on our official web site www.krokusonline.com and click on 'Guestbook' and read the positive feedback from fans that before the HAMMERFALL tour never heard of KROKUS.

"After today KROKUS will take a well-deserved break and continue as headliner (and their extended set list) the 'Hellraiser 2007' tour on March 23rd in Switzerland. For current and confirmed tour dates, visit our 'Tour' page or check out www.pollstar.com.

"As already mentioned in our November 2006 newsletter, our brave drummer Stefan Schwarzmann played with a ruptured hernia since then and throughout this tour. He will use the break between now and March 23rd to get under the knife and due to his recuperation period we had to cancel and reschedule a concert or two for a later date. We wish Stefan on behalf of all KROKUS fans all the best and a quick recovery."

GLENN HUGHES COVER OF LED ZEPPELIN's "MISTY MOUNTAIN HOP" FEATURED ON AUSTRALIAN "DIVINE" CD

According to Deep-Purple.net, the Australian version of legendary vocalist/bassist Glenn Hughes' (DEEP PURPLE, BLACK SABBATH, TRAPEZE) latest solo album, "Music for the Divine", contains the following bonus tracks: a remix of "Monkey Man" (with additional vocals by Australian superstar Jimmy Barnes); and a cover of LED ZEPPELIN's "Misty Mountain Hop", featuring a guest appearance by ALICE IN CHANS guitarist Jerry Cantrell.

In an interview conducted last year by Rockdetector.com's Garry Sharpe-Young, Hughes stated about his rendition of LED ZEPPELIN's "Misty Mountain Hop", "Sony Pictures asked we do something so we did a wonderful version of LED ZEPPELIN's 'Misty Mountain Hop'. This was for the movie 'Lords of Dogtown'. So I wrote Jimmy Page a letter because with LED ZEPPELIN you have to get permission and blessing from the guys, Jimmy, Robert Plant and John Paul Jones. But we didn't get the clearance in time to make the movie deadline."

"Music for the Divine" received its long-awaited U.S. release late January via Demolition Records. The CD, which is available in Europe on Frontiers Records, was recorded in drummer Chad Smith's (RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS) house and again features Smith on drums and longtime Glenn Hughes collaborator JJ Marsh on guitar. Also featured are RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS guitarist John Frusciante and Mark Killian, who has provided the string arrangements and keyboards.

MEGADETH MIGHT INCLUDE "THE MAKING OF UNITED ABOMINATIONS" AS A BONUS ON NEW ALBUM

MEGADETH frontman Dave Mustaine has issued the following update:

"Droogies!

I wanted to thank our beloved webmaster and his system lords for doing such a great job. I sent them a copy of a rough mix of 'Sleepwalker' weeks ago and like the stars that they are, they didn't mention a peep!

For this alone I would love you forever. Your loyalty is the stuff legends will be made of.

And to the MFC members (what a great job McRobb is doing, huh?), thank you for those who came to England to visit, and to all those who were gifted with the "livestream" of "Sleepwalker" and keeping it to just us for the time being.

I regret repeating this for the informed, but there are one or two people here that just wanna rub you all the wrong way, and don't deserve anything, and I wanted to give something special to you all as soon as I could, but the MFC was first.

Hell, you knew I would come through with a song for you to hear anyway ;-)

To everyone else that is experiencing "Sleepwalker" for the first time, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do dreaming it!

This is going to be a fun year for us all, and it starts with touring on March 11th, and a video shoot on the 8th of next week. I am sure that some of you will wonder what we are releasing for the first single, but for now it is a secret.

We head up to Canada on the 9th for two quick days of rehearsing and then its "Cold Gin Time Agai-hen!"

And it seems that there is a ray of hope in the Bonus Material of "The Making of United Abominations" being included on this record, or at the very least, it coming out on its own later as a single project. Thank you for that.

So, all around good trip, great week, the best fans and SLs, and the one and only webmaster, I bid you adieu!

A tout le monde, a tout mes amis, je vous aime, je dois partir!"

As reported earlier today, the new Megadeth track 'Sleepwalker' is available for free download for a short time here. United Abominations will be released on May 15th via Roadrunner Records.
