ROUNDER RECORDS RELEASING FIRST-EVER MUSIC DVD OF ROBERT PLANT

Rounder Records has announced the schedule of releasing Led Zeppelin's frontman, Robert Plant first-ever music dvd on this October 24. The dvd was recorded in front of small group audience at the PBS Soundstage studio in Chicago last September.

The dvd will features Led Zeppelin classics and tunes from Plant's solo career, including " Freedom Fries," Plant says " The spirit of rock'n'roll is live performance,"

"Studio recordings can be captivating, and live albums can capture some of the synergy in a concert, but there is really nothing like being in the moment when the music is connecting you to the people-it's truly a communion." says Plant.

"You find fresh nuances in the music, and the songs continue to grow with a life of their own,""As I've explored the rich musical traditions of North Africa and the Middle East, elements of those musics have worked their way into some of the most unlikely songs — and that kind of constant reinvention keeps your creativity piqued." Plant comments.

MIKE PORTNOY DREAM THEATER DRUMMER JAMS WITH OVERKILL IN NJ

Mike Portnoy, Dream Theater drummer, jamed with Overkill last Saturday (Sept 30) during the Gigantour 2006 set at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, New Jersey performing the song "Elimination" .

He used to perform the same song with Overkill in both June 2005 at the Sweden Rock Festival and October 2004 at the Hard Rock Cafe in NY.

When he spoke with Q104.3 FM prior to the Hard Rock perfomance, Portnoy said It [is] awesome. To people that don't know me, they just know DREAM THEATER , they probably think this is the most pairing in the world — the OVERKILL fans probably think this is like Neil Peart playing with PANTERA . But [the people that] know me know my metal roots. I grew up going to see OVERKILL at L'Amour [club in Brooklyn]. I would see OVERKILL and EXODUS and TESTAMENT and ANTHRAX and that whole scene — that whole scene, that old '80s scene, that whole metal scene, that was me, man. So this is totally in my blood, and I'm totally psyched." He stated.
