Lou Reed , former lead singer and guitarist of Velvet Underground, put out his third solo LP, Berlin, in 1973, but he has never performed it live. That will change in two months when the artist presents the dark song cycle in all its theatrical glory at St. Ann's Warehouse in Brooklyn, New York, on December 14-17.
Original Berlin producer Bob Ezrin and longtime Reed collaborator Hal Willner will provide musical direction, while painter Julian Schnabel will direct and design, and Antony leads the Brooklyn Youth Chorus at the event. Reed will take the theatrical performance to Sydney, Australia, next year for a three-day run January 18-20.
